So I cleaned out the stuff that has accumulated under my bed over the past several years, and I thought I'd provide a few highlights for your entertainment.
~a Backstreet Boys poster. Those were the days, girls.
~my Just World project. my ideas/ideals have definitely changed, especially given that I completed that project in the weeks immediately following September 11. Although I still think my retractable twin towers that I made to repair the broken NYC skyline that i pasted into the collage was a nice touch.
~speaking of which, newspapers of the days immediately following 9.11.01. Probably contain the most accurate information on foreign policy and national emotions hitherto. Most of the stuff since is bullshit on one or both topics.
~messages from the retreat immediately following Children of Eden, so they were written in March of 2000. Some were saccharine beyond belief, others were sweet and genuine, and others weird in that 'oh, cruel fate' kind of way. Like Ian's: freaked the crap out of me at the time, but now it's all cute. And Mark's: kinda cute at the time, but is now kinda freaking the crap out of me.
Moving right along. Thanks to the wonderful Erin Curran, we ended up sitting in Box 4 at the Baysox game last night. Holler at that. I also helped Leeann study for her music theory placement test, which she took today AND PASSED!!!! It was probably all the time we spent on harmonic minor scale theory. Damn that augmented second! We also went to Glory Days and were served by Zack, or so he called himself, who often lost track of himself by trying to watch Family Guy.
Today worked out well, even though I woke up with my stomach feeling absolutely awful. This week I'm scheduled to work at the bosses' place in Annapolis, watching the two wee ones, Ty and Autumn, which means I don't have to come into work until 10 am. That is fabulous.
And now I must go, because the kitchen is a mess.
